How to use HubSpot in Tapistro

Install, configure, and use the Tapistro integration for HubSpot, and disconnect or uninstall it.

Tapistro connects to HubSpot to bring your CRM data into GTM Journeys and push enriched insights back into HubSpot. This guide covers installing the integration, configuring it, using it in a Journey, and disconnecting or uninstalling it.

What the integration does

  • Imports Contacts, Companies, and Deals into Tapistro, with the properties you select, so you can score them against your ICP.

  • Pulls HubSpot Marketing Event data, including webinar registrations and attendance, to identify intent and personas.

  • Writes properties from Tapistro such as scores, persona tags, intent signals, and enriched attributes back onto HubSpot records.

  • Reads HubSpot list membership, so a Journey can exclude contacts you don't want to target.

Before you start

  • There is no limit on the number of connections you can create in Tapistro.

  • A HubSpot account with Super Admin or App Marketplace access permissions. Without one of these, you cannot authorize the connection.

  • If you plan to write data back to HubSpot, the target properties must already exist in HubSpot. Tapistro cannot create HubSpot properties.

Install the app

Setup starts in Tapistro.

  1. Sign in to app.tapistro.com.

  2. Go to Connections and create a new connection.

  3. Select HubSpot from the list of available connections.

  4. Click Connect. Tapistro opens HubSpot's authorization screen.

  5. If you have access to more than one HubSpot account, select the account you want to connect.

  6. Review the permissions Tapistro is requesting, then click Connect app.

  7. You return to Tapistro, and the HubSpot connection appears in your Connections list.

The HubSpot authorization screen open up. Select your account.

Once HubSpot recognizes Tapistro App it redirects back to Tapistro.

What Tapistro can access

When you authorize the connection, HubSpot shows you the exact permissions Tapistro is requesting.

Tapistro can read and write various objects in HubSpot, such as Companies, Contacts, Deals, Contact Lists, Communication, Users, Events, Notifications, Workflows, Marketing Email, Transactional Email, and Playbooks.

Tapistro cannot create HubSpot properties. Any property you want to sync into must already exist in HubSpot.

Configure the app

After the connection is created, choose what Tapistro reads from HubSpot and what it writes back via creating a Source.

Any connection created in Tapistro is executed by using that in a Journey. You can use HubSpot as a source to bring data in and as a Destination to write back data.

Import Marketing Events

Tapistro can pull Marketing Event data created in HubSpot Marketing Hub, including webinar registrations and attendance, virtual events, and any other marketing event tracked in HubSpot. This data becomes available in Tapistro for segmentation, scoring, and persona or intent identification.

Use the app

HubSpot data moves through Journeys in Tapistro. Once the connection is configured:

  1. Go to Journeys and create a Journey.

  2. Add HubSpot Object as a Source step to bring in Contacts, Companies, Deals, or Marketing Events. You can also select HubSpot marketing Events as a source.

3. Choose which object you want to sync and you can request properties.

4. Use this source in a Journey.

5. Add Filter, Condition, enrichment, or AI Agent steps to score, route, or enrich the records.

6. Add a Destination step targeting HubSpot to write the results back. Updated properties appear on the HubSpot record.

7. Run the Journey. Test on a small batch of records before running it across a full list.

Journeys can run on schedule once setup. You can also run one on demand.

For the full walkthrough, see Create and Manage Journeys.

Uninstall the app

Uninstalling removes Tapistro's access to your HubSpot account and revokes the OAuth connection.

  1. In HubSpot, go to Settings > Integrations > Connected Apps.

  2. Find Tapistro, click the Actions dropdown, and select Uninstall.

Alternatively, the connection can be deleted from Tapistro app as well.

What happens to your data: after uninstalling, Tapistro can no longer read from or write to HubSpot, and any Journey using HubSpot as a Source or Destination stops running. Property values Tapistro already wrote to HubSpot records remain on those records. HubSpot data already imported into Tapistro is retained, and your object and property configuration is preserved if you reinstall and reconnect the same account.
