Most of your site visitors leave without identifying themselves. This Journey captures those anonymous visits using deanonymization sources like RB2B and Factors.ai, resolves them to known companies and contacts, and pushes them directly into LinkedIn Matched Audiences. Your retargeting spend goes to people who already showed interest - not cold audiences. The result is better match quality, less wasted budget, and measurable improvement in RoAS.
This Journey supports two activation paths you can run independently or in parallel: account-level (company audience) and person-level (contact audience).
Starting Signal: Anonymous site visit resolved to a known company or contact
π STEP 1
Capture Deanonymized Visitor Signals
Connect your deanonymization source to Tapistro.
Tapistro pulls anonymous visitor signals from RB2B or Factors.ai and resolves them to known accounts or contacts. RB2B identifies visitors at the person level β returning a LinkedIn profile, name, and company for each visit. Factors.ai resolves visits at both the account level and, where available, the person level. These signals feed directly into your Journey as structured records ready for enrichment and activation.
π STEP 2
Create a Source
For every Journey, a Source is required to start. Here you connect your deanonymization tool as the entry point.
Go to Sources in Tapistro and create a new Source. Set the Origin Type based on your deanonymization tool:
Select RB2B Person to capture person-level visitor signals - name, LinkedIn profile, and company for each identified visit.
Select Factors.ai to capture account-level and person-level visitor signals, including company domain, firmographics, and page-level intent data.
Name your Source something descriptive, such as RB2B Site Visitors or Factors.ai Account Visits, so it is easy to identify when building Journeys.
π§ Objective: Bring anonymous site intent into Tapistro as structured, actionable signals.
π STEP 3
Create a Journey
Log into Tapistro, go to the Journeys page, and select New Journey from the upper-right area.
In the Journey Canvas, give your Journey a relevant name such as LinkedIn Retargeting β Deanonymized Visitors.
From the Type field, select Source Ingest.
From the Source ID bar, select the RB2B or Factors.ai Source you created in Step 2.
π§ Objective: Set up the Journey canvas with your deanonymized visitor feed as the input.
π§Ή STEP 4
Filter for ICP Fit
Not every site visitor belongs in your LinkedIn campaign. Filter before activating so your ad budget only reaches accounts and contacts that match your ICP.
Add a Data Filter step to your Journey and configure conditions based on:
Industry β drop verticals outside your target market
Company size β filter by headcount or revenue band
Geography β include or exclude specific regions
Seniority or title β for person-level journeys, confirm the visitor matches your buying persona before spending ad budget on them
Records that do not meet your criteria are dropped here. Only qualified visitors move to enrichment and activation.
π§ Objective: Ensure LinkedIn spend is focused on in-market, ICP-aligned visitors β not every anonymous session.
𧩠STEP 5
Enrich Accounts and Contacts
Enrich each qualified visitor record to fill in any fields your deanonymization source did not return and to confirm data quality before pushing to LinkedIn.
Company domain, industry, headcount, and revenue β for account-level matching
Work email, LinkedIn profile URL, and job title β for person-level matching
Add email validation using NeverBounce, ListClean, or Hunter to ensure contact data is accurate before activation
π§ Objective: Maximize LinkedIn match rates by sending clean, multi-identifier records to your Matched Audience.
𧩠STEP 6
Activate β Account-Level LinkedIn Audience
Use this path when your goal is brand awareness or account-based campaigns β serving ads to all relevant people at a company that visited your site.
Add a Destination step to your Journey and configure it as follows:
Config Type: Select Destination
Destination: Select your LinkedIn Ads Account Destination (set up under Destinations using your LinkedIn Ads Connection)
Audience type: Company List
Tapistro matches each account to LinkedIn using company domain and name, and pushes them into your LinkedIn Company Audience. As new visitors are resolved and qualify through the Journey, LinkedIn updates continuously β no manual uploads needed.
π§ Objective: Serve retargeting ads to every decision-maker at companies already showing interest in you β automatically and at scale.
𧩠STEP 7
Activate β Person-Level LinkedIn Audience
Use this path when you want to reach the specific individual who visited β not just anyone at the company. Higher precision, typically used for mid-funnel campaigns where the buying persona matters.
Add a second Destination step and configure it as follows:
Config Type: Select Destination
Destination: Select your LinkedIn Ads Person Destination
Audience type: Contact List
Tapistro matches each contact to LinkedIn using work email and LinkedIn profile URL β multiple identifiers β which is why match rates run significantly higher than single-field CSV uploads. Qualified contacts are added to your LinkedIn Contact Audience and your campaign begins serving to them directly.
Note: LinkedIn requires a minimum of 300 matched members before a campaign starts delivering. If visitor volume is low, combine multiple Journey outputs into one audience in Campaign Manager, or enable LinkedIn's Predictive Audiences to expand reach to similar profiles.
π§ Objective: Reach the exact person who showed intent β with a LinkedIn ad that follows them β before the moment passes.
Running Both Journeys in Parallel for Full-Funnel Coverage
You do not have to choose between account-level and person-level. Run both Destinations off the same Journey β or create two separate Journeys from the same Source β to get full-funnel LinkedIn coverage at every high-intent account.
Account-level: Broad brand awareness at the company β reaches all employees at the account, including people your deanonymization tool did not identify by name
Person-level: Precision retargeting at the specific visitor β higher relevance, better click-through, more efficient spend
Combine both audiences in LinkedIn Campaign Manager with your static ICP account list for a composite audience that covers proactive targeting, intent-based retargeting, and identified visitor follow-up β all from Tapistro.
