Once a Journey has identified and qualified your target accounts or contacts, the next step is activation. LinkedIn Ads is one of the most powerful channels for this - letting you run targeted campaigns against precisely the people Tapistro has surfaced, without any manual exports or list management.
This article walks through how contacts or accounts are activated via LinkedIn Ads, and explains what types of LinkedIn ads can be automated through this Destination.

A Tapistro LinkedIn Connection (set up under Connections)
A Journey that produces an account list or person list
To create a LinkedIn Ads connection:
Go to Connections in Tapistro.
Click New Connection.
Select LinkedIn Ads from External Systems.
Click Authorize LinkedIn Ads and complete the authorization.
Make sure you have Admin access to LinkedIn Campaign Manager.
Once authorized, the connection will appear in the Connection ID dropdown while creating the destination.
Create a LinkedIn Ads Destination
Destinations in Tapistro are created separately and then used inside a Journey. To set up LinkedIn Ads as a destination:
Go to Destinations in the left sidebar and click New Destination.
Enter a Name for this destination - something that helps you identify it when building a Journey, for example LinkedIn Ads – ICP Account List.
In the Type dropdown, select LinkedIn Ads. You can choose LinkedIn Ads Account or Person Destination.
Once type is selected, connect your LinkedIn ad account using your existing LinkedIn Connection. If you haven't set one up yet, go to Connections first.
Configure the destination:
Campaign Manager ID: enter your LinkedIn campaign manager ID here.
Audience ID: choose
Company Listfor account-based journeys, orContact Listfor person-based journeys. Enter the Audience ID here.
Click Save Destination.
How to find Campaign ID and Audience ID in LinkedIn Campaign Manager
To find the Campaign Manager ID and Audience ID:
Open LinkedIn Campaign Manager.
Open the Campaign or Audience you want to use.
Look at the URL in your browser.
The first numeric ID in the URL is the Campaign Manager ID.
The second numeric ID in the URL is the Audience ID.
Paste these IDs into the Campaign Manager ID and DMP Audience ID fields
As your Journey runs, newly qualified accounts or contacts are pushed into the LinkedIn audience continuously - keeping it fresh without any manual work.
Note: LinkedIn requires a minimum of 300 matched members before a campaign starts delivering. If your list is small, combine multiple Tapistro-driven audiences in Campaign Manager, or enable LinkedIn's Predictive Audiences to expand reach to similar profiles.
A Basic Journey: From Discovery to LinkedIn Activation
Step 1: Source — Start with an account list or person list. This could be a CSV upload, a CRM sync, or a real-time signal like a job postings search.
Step 2: Enrich — Enrich each account with firmographic data (industry, headcount, revenue) or each contact with title and verified email. This makes your downstream filtering much more precise.
Step 3: AI Agent — Run a TAP AI Agent to classify accounts or evaluate a signal. For example: "Is this company actively expanding into a new region?" or "Does this job posting indicate a RevOps initiative?" The agent outputs a structured result you can act on.
Step 4: Data Filter — Drop accounts or contacts that didn't meet your criteria. Only qualified ones pass through to activation.
Step 5: LinkedIn Ads Destination — Qualified accounts or contacts are automatically added to your LinkedIn Matched Audience. Your LinkedIn campaign -set up in Campaign Manager - then serves ads to exactly these people.
Tip💡: Combine both for full-funnel coverage. Use Company Targeting for broad brand awareness at your target accounts, and Contact Targeting to reach the specific decision-makers you've identified - at the same time.
