Role-Based Access Control

Roles required for different access levels to the information in your Tapistro account

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Access controls or access levels define what users can view or manage in their accounts or workspaces. Access levels help maintain security, accuracy, and accountability. Access levels with view-only permissions allow users to view features and data without editing them. A higher access level with edit permissions allows users to modify the org-wide Journeys, information, and settings.

Setting clear access roles protects data integrity, ensures compliance, and supports secure collaboration across your sales and GTM teams. We recommend carefully assigning roles and basing them on the principle of least privilege.

For example, an SDR may only need to execute sequences and view performance metrics, without the ability to alter automation workflows. Marketing ops can design and tweak campaigns, but shouldn't override strategic GTM decisions. GTM leaders, on the other hand, require full visibility to guide strategy, optimize processes, and make data-driven decisions.

Our software provides the following two roles to manage permissions:

  • Read-only role: Users with this role can view all account information, but can’t make any changes, say to just validate the accuracy or correctness.

    • For example, they can review connections, journeys, and personas, but cannot edit or delete them. This role is ideal for team members who need visibility without the ability to modify data.

  • Admin role: Admins have full access to all app features and settings. They can create, edit, and manage all documented tasks and configurations. This role is best suited for trusted users who manage data and maintain the system.
